Donald Trump's campaign adviser, former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani, had a criticism or two for NBC's Lester Holt after the GOP nominee bombed in his first presidential debate against Hillary Clinton: Stop telling Trump that he's lying!
NBC News reported that Giuliani hurled this scathing critique at Holt: "If I were Donald Trump I wouldn't participate in another debate unless I was promised that a journalist would act like a journalist and not an incorrect, ignorant fact-checker."
"Mr. noun-verb-9/11" was still mad on Tuesday morning's "Fox & Friends," where he continued to hammer at Holt. With Trumpian flair, Giuliani said, "What Holt did last night -- if journalism has ethics, if it has ethics -- he violated the rules of ethics." If Holt was going to interrupt the candidate, Giuliani said, he had to be right, but was "dead wrong."
NBC News reported, however, that Trump himself "felt [Holt] was fine."
