Fox News host Laura Ingraham on Thursday made a desperate last-ditch plea to get President Donald Trump to veto the bipartisan congressional compromise — thus once again shutting down the federal government.

Reacting to the details of the bipartisan deal, Ingraham fumed that Trump was being strong-armed by his own party into signing what she believes is a disastrous bill.

“So the president has his hand forced to sign a 1,159 page bill that we KNOW is filled with amnesty, PORK and wiggle room?” she asked indignantly on Twitter. “Total SCAM! Donald Trump wasn’t elected for this.”

She further chided the president by reminding him that last year he pledged to never sign a spending bill like this again.

“Remember, Donald Trump signed that omnibus last year, on promise he’d get his wall funding,” she wrote. “They lied to him. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice…”

Trump has not yet said definitively whether he will sign the spending bill, which is causing some anxiety among Republican lawmakers. In fact, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) literally prayed on Thursday that Trump would have the “wisdom” to sign it and keep the government open.

In late 2018, Trump initially indicated that he would sign off on a spending package that did not include funding for his border wall. However, after getting massive blowback about the bill from “Fox & Friends” and Ann Coulter, he reneged on his pledge to sign it, thus triggering the longest government shutdown in American history.
