The revelation that former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe authorized a national security investigation in President Donald Trump has driven the president and his supporters into a fury, reopening longstanding narratives about how there was a “Deep State” plot to overthrow him from the very beginning. Trump himself raged on Twitter Monday that McCabe was plotting a “coup” and guilty of “Treason!”

But that was nothing compared to the reaction of Rick Wiles, host of the far-right “end-times” show TruNews, who called for imprisoning and torturing several current and former administration officials and journalists.

“Former FBI Director Andrew McCabe and former Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein  should they be taken to Guantanamo Bay and waterboarded?” said Wiles. “This was an ongoing coup, and so there’s another two names that need to go to Guantanamo Bay  the two members of the Cabinet. Now we don’t know who these people were because he’s not disclosed it. I mean we could  we can speculate, I mean it could be [former Secretary of State] Rex Tillerson. It could have been, may have been [former Attorney General] Jeff Sessions. It could have been [former U.N. Ambassador] Nikki Haley. We don’t know! But there were, according to McCabe, two people in the Cabinet who were willing to overthrow the President of the United States. That means the President of the United States was holding Cabinet meetings, and he had snakes sitting around him. Hissing snakes!”

“I’d have a charter plane going to Guantanamo,” said Wiles. “I’d be stuffing them in that plane, there’s so many of them. CBS, ABC, NBC, MSNBC, The New York Times, the Washington Post. Go down the list. The media, government agencies, intelligence agencies, technology firms, all in a massive conspiracy against the constitutionally elected President of the United States.”

“There’s another guy that should be sent down to Guantanamo: the guy that’s running Media Matters, and George Soros,” Wiles said. “Jeff Sessions, what a joke. He ought to be facing the electric chair.”

It is worth noting that, with the exception of McCabe, every single government official Wiles is calling for brutal measures against was appointed by Trump. So either Trump appointed his own coup, or  alternatively  there is no coup in the first place, just a bunch of civil servants following the law and a president who may have broken it.

TruNews has had a colorful history. The show has previously featured claims that Tom Brady is controlled by witchcraft, that President Barack Obama was a “stealth jihadist” who wants to blow up schools, and that Ebola could cleanse America of “atheism, homosexuality, sexual promiscuity, pornography and abortion.”
