When Andrew Whiteman's not busy spinning a dense web of guitar lines as lead six-stringer for the sprawling Canadian indie-rock collective Broken Social Scene, he makes his own hushed and layered albums under the name Apostle of Hustle. Whiteman's love for Brazilian and Cuban music is evident in the bubbly rhythms and elastic guitar lines that drive this lyrically surreal selection from his upcoming full-length album, "National Anthem of Nowhere," which is full of similarly quirky, catchy songs like the one on offer here.
