A far cry from Monday's R&B track, "Jet Boy Jet Girl" is the kind of in-your-face and sexually outré song you'd expect John Waters to love. Recorded in 1978, this song's buzz-saw guitar playing and a snarky delivery straddle the gap between glam rock and punk, while the honking saxes hark back to the '50s rock and R&B Waters loves. Of course, the fact that the song is explicit, maybe even vulgar, about its gender-bending and sexual subject matter means it couldn't have been a hit in any era. Which is kind of too bad, because it rocks hard. Bonus points for anyone who can tell me more about Elton Motello.
