Yesterday on "The View," guest host Lisa Loeb and co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck locked horns over whether the morning-after pill should be sold over the counter. Hasselbeck got so riled up that Barbara Walters had to gently reprimand her for blowing up and destroying the semblance of "rational discussion" in what was clearly a stacked deck against Hasselbeck's pro-life viewpoint. Why hire a volatile co-host if you don't want her to blow up? Oh right, makes great drama.
After the break, Walters comforted Hasselbeck with a parental arm around the shoulder, murmuring, "One of the things we love about you is your passion and the way you feel." Cue the moving sitcom music.
