As recently as yesterday, I thought the most fun to be had ridiculing the anti-gay National Organization for Marriage came from the group's acronym. Turns out I vastly underestimated the Internet.
If you've missed all the hubbub about NOM, the group has produced a video called "Gathering Storm," in which people react to the specter of marriage equality by saying (with straight faces!) crap like, "The clouds are dark, and the winds are strong, and I am afraid. Some who advocate for same-sex marriage have taken the issue far beyond same-sex couples. They want to bring the issue into my life. My freedom will be taken away." Your freedom, people! Right out the window if everyone's allowed to marry whom they love, all willy-nilly! Watch the video over at War Room if you haven't seen it yet, then come back here.
Back? All right, check it out: Some genius saw the cheesy thunder and lightning backdrop of the NOM video and had (forgive me) a bolt of inspiration. A storm is coming, all right -- at just about half past 10.
