If you happen to be near Palo Alto, Calif., Wednesday, you can attend a house party for Rudy Giuliani at the home of Abraham Sofaer, a Reagan-era State Department advisor and major Republican campaign contributor. The price of admission: $9.11, of course.
Sofaer says the suggested contribution price wasn't his idea. Folks at the Giuliani campaign say it wasn't theirs, either. "These are two volunteers who acted independently of and without the knowledge of the campaign," Giuliani spokeswoman Maria Comella tells the Associated Press. "Their decision to ask individuals for that amount was an unfortunate choice."
We just can't imagine how they came up with it.
