"Having It All," the debut from musician/videographer/performance artist Janine Rostron, aka Planningtorock, is an electro-glam rock opera, impassioned and schizophrenic, full of false smiles and overwrought emotional climaxes that toy ambiguously with sincerity, all delivered in a style, both musical and vocal, a little histrionic for my taste, but packing an undeniable punch. "Changes" (watch the video here) hits just right, though, with a bed of uneasy pizzicato strings and many layers of Rostron's shape-shifting vocals, whispering, caressing, accusing, fawning, worrying and then bursting hilariously into Queen-style stratospheric flourishes.
