On Monday, we told you about how certain allies of former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney were attacking his rival, Arizona Sen. John McCain, by talking about his sometimes volatile personality and temper.
One of those who went after McCain was former GOP Sen. Rick Santorum, who said, "I don't think [McCain] has the temperament and leadership ability to move the country in the right direction ... I don't know anybody in Washington who has worked extensively with the senator from Arizona who doesn't have a story to tell."
In an interview with CBS's Katie Couric, McCain responded, and he didn't hold back: "I don't know what a defeated candidate for reelection, who begged me to come up and campaign for him, has to say," he said.
