House passes stimulus

In a party-line vote, the House approved the final version of the stimulus package Friday afternoon; the Senate's up next.

The House of Representatives has just voted 246-183 to approve the stimulus package, sending the bill to the Senate, which will likely take it up later in the day.

Once again, the House's vote went almost entirely along party lines. No Republicans voted for the bill; only seven Democrats were against it. One Democrat voted "present."

Update: Salon's Mike Madden reports that GOP leadership in the House is a little surprised they managed to keep all of their members from crossing the aisle and voting for the bill.
