Phew: Palin will attend fundraiser after all

A tiff between the governor and the Republican establishment appears to have been resolved

You can all rest easy: It seems Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will attend the joint fundraiser being held by the National Republican Senatorial Committee and the National Republican Congressional Committee.

The decision, which is being reported by the Washington Post's Chris Cillizza and Greg Sargent, is the apparent resolution to a fight that's gone on for months now over Palin's attendance at the dinner.

Palin, Sargent says, won't get to speak at the event -- that honor has already been taken from her and given to former House Speaker Newt Gingrich. But she will be recognized in some way. And it doesn't matter that much anyway: She'll get more eyeballs due to the interview she gave to Fox News' Sean Hannity, airing at 9 p.m. tonight, than she would have from speaking at the dinner.
