I think we all know that if Fox News host Sean Hannity had been born 40 years earlier,he would have been in the front row of marchers trying to cross the Edmund Pettus Bridge. Unfortunately, he's doomed to work in 2009, but that means he can at least carry on the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s work for him.
The Freedom Summer worker in Hannity came out on his show Thursday night, when he was discussing Judge Sonia Sotomayor and an admission she made in a speech that she is "a product of affirmative action," and a supporter of the policies. Here's the segment:
HANNITY: Apparently being the beneficiary of reverse discrimination is a matter of pride for Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor. Included in some of the materials recently submitted to Congress for the confirmation process is a tape of Judge Sotomayor singing the praises of affirmative action. Take a look:
SOTOMAYOR: I am a product of affirmative action. I am the perfect affirmative action baby. I am a Puerto Rican born and raised in the south Bronx. My test scores were not comparable to that of my colleagues at Princeton and Yale, not so far off the mark that I wasn't able to succeed at those institutions.
HANNITY: So much for Dr. King's aspirations, that future generations would be judged, not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.
Judge Sotomayor seems to disagree.
As you can see in the video clip below, Hannity actually managed to keep a straight face as he said this.
