Former Palin family groom-to-be Levi Johnston reiterated his belief that Sarah Palin gave up her governorship for money. Oh, and he adds that Sarah and Todd's marital problems, which started on "day one," also contributed.
"She's taking the money, that's what I'm gathering," Johnston told an interviewer from RadarOnline.com (whatever that is). "That's what she's talked about, and I'm sure that's what she's doing."
Pressed for an opinion as to whether he thought marital tension contributed to the decision, Johnston said yes, though he refused in a follow-up question to discuss rumors of infidelity specifically. Of course, it's difficult to believe he can speak authoritatively about how things were going for the Palins on "day one," since he was either unborn yet or still an infant during the early stages of the Palin marriage.
And the comments about finances merely echo statements Johnston has made previously to reporters. (See below)
Look, I'm no defender of Sarah Palin's politics. She's annoying and insubstantial. I have no doubt she gave up the governorship to cash in for a book deal, maybe a television gig at some point, whatever.
But Levi Johnston also seems embittered by the whole episode, and looking to find ways to cash in on his momentary fame, too. Maybe the one solid criticism that can be legitimately levied--yes, bad pun intended--against Todd and Sarah Palin as parents is that they didn't do whatever they could to keep this guy out of their daughter's life in the first place.
