Actor Miriam Shor says it was "painful" to read the script for the Netflix drama film "Lost Girls," available March 13 and directed by Liz Garbus. "Lost Girls," starring Amy Ryan, Gabriel Byrne and Shor, is based on real events and Robert Kolker's best-selling book about more than a dozen unsolved murders of sex workers. Shor plays Lorraine, a grieving mother who created a bond with other mothers around their missing daughters. Shor shares with Salon that she was enraged by the dehumanizing way her character and the other women were treated in real life, especially by law enforcement.
Shor also discusses her beloved role as publishing boss Diana Trout on "Younger" and why the show was instrumental for her transition to directing.
