Folk and soul duo The War and Treaty perform a live and exclusive version of their single "If It's In Your Heart" on "Salon Stage." The couple, Michael and Tanya Trotter, stopped by to perform songs of their latest album, "Healing Tide," available now., while in New York to open for the Indigo Girls.

Michael and Tanya use their bond to connect musically. "When we met, that kinda synergy happened, and one day someone heard us rehearsing together and saw that there was something a little bit deeper there-something that was undeniable. It was like I was singing to myself," Michael shared with Salon. It's undeniable when you hear him sing, Michael's connection to music is soul deep. While serving in the U.S. Army, he was asked to write songs for fallen soldiers.

For Tanya, the duo's music grows in sync with their relationship. "We evolve everyday as a couple, as friends, and as husband and wife. We're always trying to fine-tune our relationship." she said.
