Today, Salon.com (Nasdaq: SALN) (http://www.salon.com), a premiere Internet media company, announced an agreement with EarthLink, (Nasdaq: ELNK) the nation's second largest Internet service provider, to provide its award-winning original content to millions of EarthLink members. The content will be available via the EarthLink Personal Start Page(SM) (PSP), a members-only portal that offers customizable news, information, shopping and other services.
The EarthLink PSP serves as a gateway to EarthLink's Internet services and as a comprehensive content portal with headlines from leading news, sports and health sites. Under the agreement, the EarthLink PSP will feature three-to-five daily headlines from a number of sites on the Salon.com Web network, including News, Politics2000, Technology, Arts & Entertainment, and Health. Each headline will take EarthLink members to a customized co-branded content page on Salon.com.
"EarthLink is committed to providing our members with the best content on the Web today," said Howard Lefkowitz, vice president of business development at EarthLink. "With its reputation for great writing, thought-provoking commentary and breaking news, Salon.com is a natural fit for the EarthLink PSP."
"We are delighted to be partnering with one of the world's leading Internet service providers, and to distribute Salon.com's intelligent content to millions of new users," said Michael O'Donnell, Salon.com CEO and president."
