Salon.com (Nasdaq: SALN), (http://www.salon.com), a premier Internet media company, today announced that Ask Jeeves, Inc. (Nasdaq: ASKJ), a leading provider of Web interaction solutions that humanize the online experience, has signed a one-year sponsorship agreement, making it the exclusive Web question-answering service on Salon.com's network of sites. The agreement runs through July 2001.
The deal integrates the Ask Jeeves at Ask.com logo into the "Search the Web" architecture of the Salon.com site. The Ask.com logo now appears on the top left corner of every page on the Salon.com network, allowing Salon users to conduct Web searches directly from the site.

The terms of the agreement also include: placement of Ask Jeeves' banners throughout Salon.com's 11 content sites, as well as all of the search results pages; Ask Jeeves' participation in Salon.com affiliated properties including Burt Wolf's nationally syndicated television series, "Burt Wolf's Travel and Traditions." As well, Ask Jeeves will be incorporated into wireless, multimedia and broadband initiatives at Salon.com, including Salon Radio, Salon Avant Go channels and Salon's digital audio company, MP3Lit.com.
