Dennis Miller

Ranting Again

Published October 5, 2000 9:01PM (EDT)

Dennis Miller had an unlikely start as a comedian. As legend has it, he majored in journalism, having been inspired by Robert Redford in "All the President's Men," the 1976 movie about reporters Woodward and Bernstein who cracked the Watergate case. Miller first gained notoriety, however, as the anchor of Weekend Update, the news parody on "Saturday Night Live."

He is best known for his irreverent style of humor and his tag line, "Of course, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong." He is currently the host of "Dennis Miller Live," which first aired on HBO in 1994. Since then, he and his staff have won an Emmy Award for the writing on the show. In addition to his numerous appearances in television and film, Miller is the author of "The Rants," "Ranting Again," and most recently, "I Rant Therefore I Am," all from Doubleday. He and his wife live in southern California with their two children.
