The new cable movie What Makes a Family (9 p.m., Lifetime) stars Brooke Shields as a lesbian fighting for custody of her daughter after her partner (Cherry Jones) dies. It's followed by the documentary All Kinds of Families (11 p.m., Lifetime), which profiles gay and lesbian parents, including the real-life couple the movie was based on.
