Now that's a little embarrassing. A New York Times story about a Klan member who murdered a black sharecropper was accompanied by a photo not of the convicted killer but of ... GOP Senate candidate Pete Coors. Whoops.
According to the Rocky Mountain News, the Coors campaign found the error "so outrageous it's kind of funny."
"It could have been worse," spokeswoman Cinamon Watson joked. "Pete could have been identified as John Kerry." The Times, we're sure, regrets the error.
