"Weapon of mass deception"

John Kerry opened up looking and sounding fresh: Responding to the first audience member's question of how he answers critics who call him "wishy washy," Kerry quickly zeroed in on the equivocations of his opponent, charging that the president has turned his campaign into a "weapon of mass deception."

Bush looked and sounded rather stale out of the gate, immediately falling back on the old talking points: Kerry voted for the $87 billion in Iraq, then he voted against it. First he was for the war, then against it. First he voted for X, then he voted against it

There was, however, at least one thing fresh about Bush's appearance -- the backside of his suit jacket looked perfectly smooth.
