The 2002 album "Total Lee: The Songs of Lee Hazlewood" was a welcome collection of Hazlewood classics covered by artists like Lambchop, Calexico and Tindersticks. Ex-Lemonhead Evan Dando and Sabrina Brooke tackled "Summer Wine," one of a string of fabulous duets that Hazlewood wrote and performed with Nancy Sinatra. Brooke has the perfect throaty theatricality for the job, and while Dando's druggy deadpan is miles away from Hazlewood's smooth, sonorous campiness, it works nicely too.
