"Let it Ride," the lead single from Ryan Adams' upcoming "Cold Roses," which is the first of three planned releases from Adams for 2005, went up today as an exclusive download on iTunes. This is the recording debut of his newly formed band the Cardinals, a group that includes the Strokes' "guru" and sometime guitar teacher, J.P. Bowersock, and ace slide guitarist Cindy Cashdollar, and seems to be on a mission to sound like a Nashville session band. On this song Adams is just coasting along lazily in comfortable, shuffling country-rock mode, not digging as deep as he did on "Love Is Hell," but he throws in a glorious bridge as a reminder of how easy it is for him.
