Devendra Banhart calls Diane Cluck "my favorite singer in New York City." Banhart also included Cluck on his "Golden Apples of the Sun" compilation, which, although available only in very limited numbers (it's currently in its second printing of 1,000), essentially crystallized the new folk scene that revolves around Banhart. Cluck is releasing her first full-length album, "Oh Vanille/Ova Nille," in a limited edition run of just 500 copies, all in homemade packaging. On "Easy to Be Around" she triple- and quadruple-tracks her Chan Marshall-esque voice to lovely effect.
