Introducing the Daou Report -- again! -- a preview of Salon's redesign.

When we added Peter Daou's blog about blogs as a Salon daily feature in February, it was only a few months old and still a work in progress. We liked it enough to add it to Salon "as is" and to give our readers a chance to read and enjoy it and tell us what they thought. We heard from a lot of you that you liked it, for some it became a daily addiction, but we also got great feedback about how to make the site more useful. This new, improved Daou 2.0 is our effort to do that.

To point to just a few of the changes:

  • We've always admired Peter's commitment to let the blogs speak for themselves, but we've encouraged him to give you a little direction up top, to help you find the conversations you're most interested in and to get a quick read of what matters most in the world of bloggers today.

  • We've added a comments section, so you can tell Peter what you think matters most.

  • We've combined the news and buzz sections and moved them out of the center well to the far left column.

    • The Daou Report is also the first step in our effort to redesign Salon -- you'll notice a different navigation bar, some new colors and all around less clutter. Let us know what you think!
