Will Oldham, aka Bonnie "Prince" Billy, can sometimes seem an almost Dylanesque figure in terms of his stature and skill -- and other times he comes across as a superhumanly dull, frustratingly sloppy and careless artist (come to think of it, once again rather like Dylan). This is an outtake from his new live recording, "Summer in the Southeast," on which Oldham sounds both emotionally disconnected and full of burning passion, and almost makes them seem like the same thing.
