The surreal and delightful pop music fantasia that is Ariel Pink's work continues with "House Arrest," another rerelease by the Animal Collective's Paw Tracks label of one of Pink's self-released CD-Rs. As with the previous two albums, it's like a painting of Lite FM music doctored with water until all the colors run together, a strange conceptual art reworking of a pulpish genre. The final track, "Oceans of Weep," is particularly expansive, and is a beautiful demonstration of Pink's artfully smudged sonic palette.
