Edge of "Seventeen"

MTV's "Miss Seventeen," which throws 17 "accomplished and ambitious" teen girls together to compete for an internship and cover girl gig with Seventeen magazine, is pretty much exactly what it sounds like: Insecure A-personalities hopped up on Red Bull who desperately try to hide their inner-Mean Girls in order to seem as selfless as Mother Theresa, but with flawless skin and really cute shoes. How can that not be good? Plus, this week it boasted a hilarious cameo by beloved Salon contributor/Seventeen editor Whitney Joiner.
