Film School is yet another band taking a noirish approach to the now familiar project of '80s post-punk revivalism, falling into the Calla/Interpol school, rather than the bouncy fun-and-games set of Franz Ferdinand and the Kaiser Chiefs. They don't have a vocal presence as strong as Interpol's Paul Banks, but they do have some mighty guitar work going on, both darkly introverted and soaringly assertive. "On & On" was released on an EP of the same name late last year, and is also the first song on their just released self-titled album.
