Don't make any vacation plans for next January. Scooter Libby's trial in the Valerie Plame case has just been set for Jan. 8, 2007.

According to the Associated Press, U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton had hoped to set the trial for this September, which would have put it on the calendar just before November's midterm elections. But a "scheduling conflict" from one of Libby's lawyers forced him to move it to January instead.
