Caroline Lufkin, Berklee Music School graduate and younger sister of half-Japanese J-pop star Olivia Lufkin, has chosen to skip possible J-pop stardom for herself and instead seems poised, thanks to the rapturous reception this song has received all over the Web, to follow in the footsteps of Annie, the airbrushed, slightly exotic and just vaguely experimental pop singer beloved of hipsters the world over. This song is somewhere between Björk (more in the micro electronic production than in the singing) and a Disney ballad.
