Catfish Haven is unfortunately named (after frontman George Hunter's childhood trailer park home, no less) and unexpectedly good, playing gutsy, rough-edged indie rock that draws from garage rock without any ironic posturing, and from Southern rock without any forced rusticity (except, I guess, in the name). This song, the title track from their recently released first EP on Secretly Canadian, hooked me immediately. You can also download "Paper Thin" and "Too Hungover to Headbang" from their 2001 "Good Friends" EP.
