Tuesday was the third track from "Destroyer's Rubies," Wednesday was the fourth, and here's the fifth, my favorite, the crown jewel. It starts off with great restraint, a momentary softening, a conciliatory tone, but builds stealthily into one of the most potent expressions of Dan Bejar's defiant spirit. Carl Wilson has written here about the song, and the whole album, with more intelligence and knowledge than I can muster. And everyone: Go buy this record. It's a masterpiece.
