Eleven women plus one sperm donor equals a gaggle of biological half-siblings, and a new sort of sisterhood, according to a fascinating Washington Post story from Monday.
Carla Schouten of San Jose tells the Post that she and the other moms actually have less interest in meeting Donor 401, as they know him, than in getting to know one another: "It's an emotional connection. We have a common base," Schouten says. "Most of us are single. We all desired children, and we were all attracted to the same donor."
