Duke lacrosse players charged

Two sophomores are arrested on charges of raping stripper.

Despite the lack of DNA evidence, there are some arrests in the alleged gang raping of a 27-year-old stripper at a Duke lacrosse party. CNN reports that sophomores Reade Seligmann, 20, and Collin Finnerty, 19, were arrested and charged with first-degree rape, first-degree forcible rape and kidnapping. The men surrendered early this morning after a grand jury returned the sealed indictments against them. Police are trying to find a third suspect because the victim said she was attacked by three men.

There's no word on whether that's player Ryan McFadyen, whose e-mail Broadsheet wrote about last week. (Police seized the message threatening to kill and skin the strippers along with some of McFadyen's electronic equipment.)

Of course neither of the arrested men has been proved guilty yet, but at least one of them, Finnerty, is no peach. According to Raleigh's News & Observer, he was arrested in November on assault charges in Washington and was sentenced to community service.
