Senegalese hip-hop group Daara J was one of the best things I heard at last year's South by Southwest festival, and now I've finally found an MP3 to post, the title track from their third record, "Boomerang." They use beats based as much in Afro pop and traditional West African music as in hip-hop, but without a hint of gimmickry, and there's a nice contrast on this track between the swaying groove and the rappers' spitting delivery.
