Rocky Votolato is a Seattle songwriter whose latest album, "Makers," is a fairly snoozy collection of indifferently written, achingly sincere, hushed, folky songs, not distinctive enough to leave much of an impression. But the opening track, "White Daisy Passing," is an exception, not really a different style than the rest of the record, but just the same style done well (and bearing "The OC" seal of approval), reminiscent of Elliot Smith, and with some lovely double-tracked harmony vocals.
