Amadou & Mariam, a blind married couple from Mali, have been making music together for decades, but it was last year's "Dimanche À Bamako" that brought them worldwide attention. This is some of the most smoothly enjoyable Afropop of recent years, thanks in large part to the production work by Manu Chao, a world music star himself, who gives the album a breezy, polished sound and, more important, sequenced it to flow like a perfect DJ set, sure to get people dancing.
