South Dakota Sen. John Thune beat Tom Daschle in 2004 by making the case that the incumbent was obstructing the agenda of George W. Bush. So how would Thune run if he had to run again now? "If I were running in the state this year, you obviously don't embrace the president and his agenda," Thune told reporters at the National Press Club Wednesday. "The first thing I'd do is acknowledge that there have been mistakes made."
