Limbaugh and Bush, or the call of the chicken hawk

Limbaugh says Kerry has a "Vietnam-era mindset." How would he know?

We don't want to belabor our point about Republican overreaching, but sometimes it's impossible to resist: In his interview with George W. Bush today, Rush Limbaugh said that John Kerry has a "Vietnam era mind-set," that "back when we had a draft, that if you didn't have a college deferment you got drafted -- and that's his thinking on who comprises military members, that they're basically uneducated boobs."

If John Kerry has a Vietnam-era mindset, maybe it's because he actually served in the Vietnam War. Limbaugh? He took a student deferment in 1969-1970 -- the only year he actually spent in college -- then reaped the benefits of a medical deferment after that.
