Tuesday's election may determine the course of the "ideological struggle of the 21st century," but Dick Cheney apparently has more important things to do in the meantime. The Associated Press reports that the vice president won't be on the campaign trail today or tomorrow; he heads to South Dakota today in order to -- wait for it! -- go hunting for the first time since he shot Harry Whittington in February.

We wonder if Cheney's hunting partners know the stakes.
