Sherrod Brown is projected to beat Mike DeWine.

CNN has just called another pickup for Democrats in the Senate: It says Democratic challenger Sherrod Brown has defeated Republican Sen. Mike DeWine in Ohio.

With wins in Ohio and, apparently, Pennsylvania, the Democrats appear to have picked up two of the six seats they need to take control of the Senate -- assuming, of course, that Ben Cardin holds onto Maryland's Senate seat.

DSCC chairman Chuck Schumer says things are looking good so far for the Democrats, and indeed they are. That said, the toughest sledding is probably still ahead in Virginia, Montana, Missouri, Rhode Island and -- hope against hope -- Tennessee.
