This week in Thailand, 150 klicks from Bangkok, monkeys hit the town of Lopburi for an annual feast held in their honor. In this video, the monkey banquet is in full swing and no detail seems spared. But maybe that candy the correspondent mentions isn't such a good idea - the monkeys seem a little amped toward the end of the footage (if fighting atop tables is standard operating procedure at your office party, please disregard). And, is the correspondent saying the event is organized by a "local hotelier" or a "local pot dealer"? Pot dealer probably makes more sense in this case but we don't intend to be flip about this monkeypalooza. Reportedly, the organizer's idea is to thank the monkeys for all the tourists they bring to the area. He must owe the monkeys lots of thanks, because the event has got to be hell on the pagoda's ancient septic system.
