It's too bad Mark Kozelek, best known as the frontman of the Red House Painters and more recently of Sun Kil Moon, feels compelled to drown his voice in so much reverb when he performs -- the effect works fine on record, but comes off as a little cheesy live, and it's unnecessary to boot because his singing is so awash in nostalgia to begin with it doesn't need any help. It's a minor complaint, though, because he sets a mood so effortlessly and has a seemingly endless supply of melt-in-your-mouth melodies. This is a track from his new live album, "Little Drummer Boy."
