The previously Grammy-nominated Liverpool quartet Clinic specialize in tense, eerie music that combines influences from dub reggae to cerebral post-punk. This track, the leadoff number from their upcoming album, "Visitations," finds the band in ferocious garage-blues mode, stomping away to the relentless grind of a metallic slide guitar riff while Ade Blackburn sings as if through gritted teeth. It's a typically intense and unnerving effort from the mysterious group -- they wear surgical masks during their live shows -- and definitely not for the faint of heart. -- D.M.
