It seems as if almost every month there's a new English act that the music press goes all googly-eyed for: Bloc Party, Lily Allen, Lady Sovereign, the Streets, Corinne Bailey Rae, blah blah blah. This month's flavor, or maybe next month's -- we're always ahead of the curve here at Audiofile -- is Amy Winehouse. Already something of a target for her homeland's gossip rags as a result of some boorish behavior, Winehouse has been garnering strong notices with her second album, "Back to Black" (still available in the U.S. only as an import), from which this track is taken. Reminiscent of the hip-hop-inflected neo-soul that Lauryn Hill did so well before she disappeared, "Rehab" also throws in a welcome bit of girl group bounce to a tale of someone who really doesn't want to go to rehab.
