Judging from "John Brown's" sun-dazed vibe, it sure sounds like San Francisco's Papercuts have seen their fair share of spaghetti westerns. The weary vocals, silvery guitar and quivering strings draw on the same dusty, hallucinatory vibe as the classic film scores Ennio Morricone composed for Sergio Leone's amoral western epics. Sounding like a desert mirage, this wonderfully evocative song should help keep all you East Coasters warm as you struggle through this winter's first serious cold snap.
