White House bats down Cheney resignation talk

Unidentified "Republican politicians" say the idea can't be dismissed entirely.

From the "Yes, and Someday Pigs Will Fly" Department, Bloomberg News cites unidentified "Republican politicians" as saying that it's unlikely that Dick Cheney will resign in the wake of Scooter Libby's conviction but that the possibility "can't be dismissed." White House press secretary Tony Snow dismissed it pretty completely today, saying that Cheney "remains a trusted aide" upon whom "the president depends."
