Here's that great Bush sense of humor in action. According to the Washington Times, 13-year-old Jessica Hackerd from Brecksville, Ohio, had a question for the president.
"Mr. President, I know immigration has been a big problem in the U.S. And what is your next step with the immigration bill?" she asked Bush after a speech in Cleveland.
Bush's sarcastic "Yeah, thanks" provoked chuckles from the crowd, but moved young Jessica to tears. "No, it's a great question. No, I appreciate that," Bush said, but the damage was done.
Jessica told reporters she was crying because she was so nervous, but when Bush's sarcasm was mentioned she noted: "I heard that too."
Bush then talked about the death of his proposed immigration reform, while Jessica continued to wipe away tears for several minutes.
You can read the whole thing here. Boy, is Bush's hostile, dry-drunk, nickname-giving faux alpha male act getting old.
